French Alps' ski resort blanketed in a thick layer of snow

Heavy snowfall is causing major disruption in the Swiss, French and Italian Alps. The Tignes resort in the French Alps has been covered with a white blanket more than 100 cm thick. Local authorities have had to take exceptional measures in response to traffic difficulties and risks of avalanches and falling trees.
