





Two French convoys of ambulances and vehicles carrying medical and rescue equipment destined for Ukraine arrived in Romania over the weekend. The first convoy reached the EU-funded logistical hub in Suceava near the Ukrainian border on Saturday.
It consisted of 11 fire engines, 16 rescue vehicles and 23 lorries transporting an overall 49 tones of health and emergency equipment. The second convoy, consisting of 21 newly constructed ambulances, purchased via contributions from French local authorities and businesses, arrived on Sunday.
The operations were carried out under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, whose aim is to coordinate countries contributing to disaster response. With over 10,000 square meters of storage space, the hub in Suceava has already received more than 200 tons of medicine and medical equipment for Ukraine from various countries.
