




The “Buhur Water” (Incense Water) tradition, an important part of Ottoman palace culture, is being revived in Isparta, home to Türkiye’s only fragrance museum. The Misparta Fragrance Museum and Workshop—whose name is a blend of the Turkish word “mis” (fragrant) and the city of Isparta—hosted a special ceremony to showcase this 700-year-old tradition.
During the Ottoman era, rose water boiled from the fifteenth day of Ramadan was filled into incense burners to spread pleasant scents. The fragrant event, conducted using authentic traditional methods, attracted great interest, especially from women.
