Free Vaccination for girls to prevent cervical cancer

Every year, February 4 is observed as World Cancer Day, a day to spread awareness in the fight against Cancer. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer affecting women.

People from all over the world come together to prevent cancer and raise awareness about its spread. For bolstering women’s health during the Budget 2024, India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced free vaccination for girls in the age group of 9 to 14 years for the prevention of cervical cancer.
