Frankfurt airport blockade due to the Climate Protest

Around 140 flights have been canceled due to the climate protest at Frankfurt Airport. Operator Fraport reports that delays in operations are to be expected for the rest of the day. Passengers are asked to check their flight status on the airlines’ websites before traveling to the airport. A total of 1400 take-offs and landings were planned for Thursday.

Just under three hours after the intrusion of eight people onto the airport premises, the runways were clear for flight operations again at 05:50.GMT. The federal police arrested the “Last Generation” activists and handed them over to the Hessian state police for prosecution, according to a spokesperson.
