France's Macron attends welcome ceremony in Beijing

French President Emmanuel Macron met the Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday, where he is expected to discuss ceasefire in Ukraine and trade relations between France and China.

Macron is also expected to meet with Premier Li Qiang before travelling to Chengdu. Macron is also due to discuss trade with China, with the European Union facing a massive trade deficit of $357 billion with the Asian powerhouse. The French president will stay in China until Friday.
