


The donation ceremony of medical devices to Yangon General Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Sports from the people of France was held on Tuesday.
In the donation ceremony at Department of Medial Research in Yangon, the Ambassador of France to Myanmar and Director General of Department of Medial Research gave remarks. The event continued with signing of gift certificate by Senior Medical Superintendent from Yangon General Hospital and the French Ambassador.
Ambassador, French Embassy in Myanmar, H.E. Christian Lechervy said ““I’m very proud to deliver this support for two kinds of people finally. To the medical staff and we now how we are important to protect the medical staff in time being, we need them. At the same time, to the patients who face the more dramatic dimension of the coronavirus”.
To accelerate effective emergency response to COVID-19, French Embassy in Myanmar donated 50,000 euro worth medical devices including Powered air-purifying respirators, HillRom ICU beds, General Electric Monitors, Zoll Transport Ventilators and more. Director General of Department of Medial Research accepted the donation.
Director General, Department of Medical Research (Yangon), Dr. Zaw Than Htun said “Such donated medical devices are major weapons to save the lives of COVID-19 severe patients. I’d like to say a big thank you to the French people for this donation of important devices at this time when COVID-19 infection and mortality rate are on the increase in Myanmar.”
In return, Ministry of Health and Sports presented a certificate of honour to French Embassy.
