





2023 State and Region Futsal Tournament kicked off at the Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
Members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwebu, Poe Rel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, U Maung Ko, Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Dr Kyaw Tun, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyein, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy ministers, departmental officials, officials from Myanmar Football Federation, supervisors/coaches from participating teams, athletes, staff families of the Ministries and enthusiasts enjoyed the tournament.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Sports and Youths Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that he believes new generation football athletes can be trained and produced from the competition and called for officials and players to strive for revealing the essence of the competition.
Later, athletes from regions and states took sports oath. After that, members of the SAC and Union Ministers cordially greeted athletes from participating teams and enjoyed competing of Mandalay Region team and Kachin State team as the men’s event.
The region and state Futsal tournament intends for strengthening unity among futsal players, flourishing Union spirit, developing futsal sports in the regions and states, being more interested in the futsal sports by the youths and uplifting Myanmar futsal sports standard.
The 2023 State and Region Futsal Tournament will be held at the Wunna Theikdhi futsal stadium from 24th to 31st July and a total of 350 athletes from 15 men teams and 11 women teams are participating in the tournament and every enthusiast can enjoy the tournament free of charge.
