Forest Conservation: MONREC Union Minister inspects forest plantations

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi visited ZeePin Forest Reserve in NaungCho Township of Shan State (North) on Thursday. The Union Minister inspected conservation of forest plantations and thriving of private forest plantations, and gave instructions on extended cultivation of forest plantations.

The Union Minister later proceeded to Turtle Rescue Camp in BantBweKone Forest Office and viewed 601 various turtles that have been rescued from illegal activities. The Union Minister also observed the hard wood plantations and nursery garden where over 50,000 saplings are being nurtured for distribution during 2023 monsoon season.
