Foreign Affairs: Opening Ceremony of Course in Diplomacy

The Opening Ceremony of the Course in Diplomacy (CID) Batch No. 9 for the newly recruited junior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held on 24 August 2026 at the Lawkanatt Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the ceremony, U Tin Maung Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening remarks. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Ministers, the Permanent Secretary, Directors-General and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and trainees.

The 11-week training course, combining theoretical lectures and practical exercises, is designed for 29 newly recruited junior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2026. The course will cover subjects including the functions and responsibilities of the departments under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as diplomacy, international relations, cooperation with regional and international organizations, ASEAN affairs, consular affairs, international law, and professional skills development.
