





Kachin State Government is implementing for ensuring food sufficiency in PutaO District through extended cultivation of rice and oil crops.
On 22nd September, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan visited the Morning Market, one of the major tourist attractions in PutaO. The market offers variety of herbal plants, fruits and vegetables as well as the basic consumer goods with reasonable price.
During the visit, the Chief Minister met with the District and Township Level Village Project Supervising Committee and discussed for boosting agriculture and livestock production. Over 1 billion kyat capital from the State Economic Promotion Fund have been allotted for PutaO District during the first year project, and 1.76 billion kyat for the second year phase.
During the meeting, 7 million kyat cash assistance were provided to two small scale businesses. Moreover, the native poultry and piglets were provided to the breeders along with the livestock medicines and feeds.
In meeting with local farmers, the Chief Minister urged all to make efforts for sufficiency of edible oil, keeping the momentum of achieving the rice sufficiency target in the district.
