Food Sufficiency: Agriculture and livestock works in Myitkyina

Kachin State Government is striving for development of agriculture and livestock sectors to ensure food sufficiency in the region.

For this initiative, cash assistance has been provided by the State Economic Development Fund to the local entrepreneurs. On Saturday, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan made inspection tour to Pammati to assess the progress of integrated farm, which is operated by 120 million kyat cash assistance from the second circle of the State Economic Development Fund.

The farm engages in breeding of cows, pigs, fish and goats as well as cultivation of various vegetables. The Chief Minister and party oversaw the operation process at the pig breeding farm and oil mill of Kachin State Cooperatives Association near the farm. During the inspection, animal medicines, pesticides and animal feeds were provided to the breeders.
