Food charities in the U.K. are calling for more help from the government as Treasury chief Jeremy Hunt is set to deliver his plan for tackling a sputtering economy in a speech to Parliament on Thursday.

The increasing number of people in need of food was echoed by the Felix Project, a charity that collects surplus food from supermarkets and distributes it to 1,000 food pantries, schools, community groups and homeless shelters across London. The CEO of the Felix Project said that communities they support are desperate for any help they can get.
