5th Enterprise India Myanmar “Focused India Show” kicked off at Lotte Hotel in Yangon on Thursday.
Vice President U Myint Swe and the visiting Indian President Shri Ram Nath Kovind graced the opening ceremony and gave their special remarks for the show.
The expo was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Embassy of India in Myanmar. It aims to provide a platform to Indian industries to have network and enhance the bilateral trade between the two countries.
Head of Communications, JCB India Limited, Jasmeet Singh said “I think we already have a very strong and cohesive relationship. And by doing event such as this, this relationship will only grow broader and will only get importance.”
Enterprise India showcases the best of India manufactured products, equipment, services and technology to Myanmar, and help build industrial and trade partnerships.
Group Head, Apollo Hospitals – International Business, Jithu Jose said “We are looking at the clinical relationships in Myanmar because there are many local health care entities …So, at this point of time, we have clinical engagement in Myanmar and we will love to foster that further and some point of time, we guess we will love to be involved."
Local businessmen hope that this kind of expo could bring many opportunities for development of small and medium enterprises in the country.
Chairman, Myanmar Plastic Industries Association, U Tun said “Borders trade, especially with India on machinery and agricultures, should be expanded. And Myanmar’s SMEs business must also be strengthened. To do that, we need many of this kind of expo.”
Vice President, Myanmar Pulp & Paper Industry Association, Kyaw Min said “Meeting with the exhibitors here, we can ask what we want to know and we see so many products that we want to have. And here are many related equipments that can be needed in the current workplace in Myanmar. It’s a nice platform for both of the countries if we looked it the many possible view.”
The 3 days expo brings 26 business delegation and more than 70 exhibitors focusing on agriculture and farm equipment, automobile, transportation, construction equipment, machinery, skill development, healthcare, education, power, energy, electricity and services.
