FM: Turkiye can open 2nd crossing for aid to Syria

Turkish Foreign Minister said that his country has offered to open a second border crossing into Syria to allow aid to reach the earthquake devastated regions across the frontier.

Currently, aid is only passing through one border gate at Bab al Hawa, but the minister said damage to roads there had initially impeded the delivery. The Turkish minister denied allegations that Turkiye would open a border crossing into areas controlled by Syrian Kurdish militants or that plans to open a new border gate would increase refugee flows from Syria into Turkiye. The Turkish Foreign Minister added Turkiye has also opened up its airspace to allow the delivery of aid to Syria.
