Flower Festival: Event in Pyin Oo Lwin to run till January 15

Mandalay Region Chief Minister Wunna Kyaw Htin U Maung Ko attended the opening of the 15th Flower Festival at the National Kandawgyi Botanical Garden in Pyin Oo Lwin Township on Sunday.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that the State Administration Council has been working to turn the Pyin Oo Lwin Township into a education city, tourism city, cherry city and healthy city. Due to the covid-19 outbreak, the number of tourist arrival decreased to a certain extent.

Now, tourism is picking up again. Holding such a flower festival can attract more tourists and will assist in the promotion of Myanmar's tourism sector and regional development, flower production, loving and valuing the natural environment in the country, the Chief Minister added.

This 15th flower festival is set to run till January 15. Various flowers are displayed at the festival, and entertainment programmes and local products sales event are included.
