Floods from heavy rains that hit Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province on Thursday and Friday have killed at least 62 people. Local authorities under The Taliban interim government said hundreds of buildings were destroyed or washed away.

The government and local officials dispatched rescue teams to search for missing people. Last month, heavy rains that hit the country killed at least 70 people and damaged more than 2,000 buildings in the country.
