Floods in Bago Region: Union Minister provides cash and food at the relief camps

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win together with Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and officials inspected water inundated areas in Kyaukgyi Su ward of Bago Region due to the heavy rains on Monday.

He also looked into rescue woks carried out by departmental and social organizations at the low-lying areas due to floods and coordinated the needs.

Then, Union Minster, the region Chief minister and officials met with floods-affected people in the relief camps opened at the Damha Linkarya Monastery and Mon prayer hall and provided cash assistance for rice and food stuffs for 14,000 flood victims of 3,465 households at the 36 temporary relief camps.

Next, Union Minister inspected the flood Supervision Camp of Bago Region Natural Disaster Management Committee opened in Sasana Beikman and officials reported their works and Union Minister fulfilled the requirements.

After that, Union Minister and officials made a field inspection to inflow of water at the junction of Oh Pin Road and Magin (1) Road in Shin Saw Pu ward, diverting water flow through the water outlet on the detour road and in Katwin Chan village and gave necessary instructions.
