Floods in Bago, Hlegue &Taikkyi :Rescue operations conducted by military servicemen

The recent floods triggered by heavy rainfall occurred in Hlegue and Taikkyi Townships of Yangon Region on 9th October. Local Tatmadawmen under the Yangon Region Command evacuated the flood-affected people to temporary relief camps, provided transportation for vehicles and healthcare services.

On the 10th of October, The Region Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein and officials inspected the rescue operations, provided food stuffs and necessary assistances to the flooded-victims. On the same day, the Commander of Southern Command and officials looked into the flooded areas in Bago Township of Bago Region and the evacuation tasks for the flood-affected people carried out by local military servicemen, Myanmar Police Force, fire brigade members and social organizations, provided food items, cash and fulfilled the requirements. Due to the heavy rainfall in Bago Township, the water level of Bago River has exceeded more than 119 centimeters above the danger level, it’s reported.
