Flooding in Yenangyaung :6 basic education schools temporarily closed

6 out of 150 basic education schools in Yenangyaung township of Magway Region have been temporarily closed due to floods as the water level of Ayeyarwaddy River has risen.

The schools have been closed for safety of teachers and students starting from the 21st of August.The township education officer said that flooding has occurred starting from August 18th.

He also added that plans are underway to open the school on the 27th of August and there will also be classes in the weekend as substitution.
