Flooding in Bilin: Chief Minister makes inspections and provides aid

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein together with concerned officials on Sunday inspected the flooded low-lying area in KanTharYar Ward of Bilin Township due to heavy and torrential rains.

There, the Chief Minister instructed concerned officials to improve water flow in the area, to help the flood-affected people to move to their houses after the flood, to carry out clean-up works and to prevent infectious diseases.

There, the Chief Minister also inspected infectious diseases prevention works before inspecting the flood situation in the area by boat.

On the same day, he visited the flood relief and rescue office at the Sasana Beikman and held talks with flood-affected people, stressing the importance of cooperation and bracing before the disaster and pledging to provide aid.

And, the Chief Minister provided cash assistance of over 18 million Kyats for the flood-affected people. Also, basic foodstuffs were provided. The Chief Minister also fulfilled the requirements presented by the flood-affected people.
