Flood situation worsens in Assam

Authorities ramped up rescue efforts in Assam, India. In Assam, the flood situation has worsened as river Brahmaputra flows above danger level.

Over 262,000 people remain affected in 12 districts of the state. 34 people have lost their lives so far. Rescue operations continue as different agencies work together, including the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, fire and emergency services and the local administrations. Emergency services are working around the clock to provide relief and support to affected areas.
