Flood Relief: Vice President Attends Vessel Donation Ceremony

Chairman of the Natural Disaster Management Committee Vice President U Henry Van Thio attended vessel donation ceremony for flood-affected areas on Wednesday.

In the ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw, the Vice President stressed the importance of disaster preparedness, search and rescue and rehabilitation. He expressed words of thanks to the donor for the vessel donation which can be used as a mobile clinic. He pledged to fulfill the vessel with medicine, medical staff and many other necessaries.

The Vice President also called for cooperation with the government on search and rescue and rehabilitation tasks. Also, chairperson of Tint Tint Myanmar group of companies explained about the vessel donation.

The Chairperson handed over the documents about the vessel to the Vice President who presented a Certificate of Honour to the donor. The length overall and breadth of the locally made vessel is 105 feet and 18 feet which will be used a mobile clinic.
