Flood Prevention Measures: Sand dredging process and bridge construction site

In order to prevent Ayeyawaddy River’s water level surging and to fix river water channel, sand dredging and clearing works are being carried out near the downstream area of Bala Min Htin Bridge.

On 19th April, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials inspected the dredging and clearing process and heard reports on current work implementation and tasks completion. Upon reports, the Chief Minister stressed on systematic transportation of the sand and gravel.

At sand dredging operation site, the Chief Minister coordinated necessities to meet targeted areas. They also inspected the piers construction of the Bala Min Htin Bridge No.2 and water erosion prevention measures carried out at Bala Min Htin Bridge No.1.
