Flood in Nyaung Shwe: Relief measures provided for the affected households

Due to the heavy rain triggered by the impact of storm, KoneHlaing Dam in ShweNyaung has breached, causing the inundation in NyaungShwe Township of Kalaw District.

About 1,000 households were affected by the floods, and evacuated to the temporary shelters, with relief measures and health care services in place. On Saturday, Chief Minister U Aung Aung visited the Yangon Myoma Monastery in NyaungShwe where the affected-households are accommodated, pledging to provide assistance for rehabilitation.

During the visit, foodstuff were provided to the flood victims. The Chief Minister and party then took a motorboat ride to oversee the flood condition in NyaungShwe. He instructed the departmental personnel to make cooperative efforts for drinking water supply and temporary opening of schools.
