Flood in Ayeyawady Region: Relief items provided to the affected households in Thabaung

Due to the surge of Nga Wun River in Ayeyawady Region, over 420 people from Thabaung Township have been evacuated to the temporary relief camps.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and party visited the relief camp, opened at Withoda Yama Myo Ma Min Monestary in No. 3 ward to provide rice and cooking oil to the affected people from 106 households. They also gave instructions on providing shelters, foodstuff and health care assistance to flood affected people and preparation for the education of the students.

It was followed by donation of offertories to the presiding Sayadaw and submitted the undergoing rescue operations in flooded areas. The Chief Minister and party then inspected the rising water level of Nga Wun River from the embankment and gave necessary instructions.
