Fishery Camp: Ensuring food security in the region

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, accompanied by concerned officials attended the opening ceremony of the fishery camp at the Taungdwingyi Township Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on Saturday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister underlined the importance of agriculture and livestock farming which is the essential business for the region. He instructed the officials to practice the fish farming system for enhancing the production in order to ensure food security and surplus and to expand livestock farming.

He emphasized the needs for the departmental officials to carry out effective supervision on preventing fish biodiversity loss and long-term fish consumption. After that, the Chief Minister and concerned officials conducted inspection on the experimental hatching of fish varities at the fish hatchery camp and instructed the needs.
