Fish Stocking Ceremony: MOI Union Minister joined the ceremony

To support the increase of fish resources, prevent species depletion, ensure the sustainable abundance of fish in natural waters and lakes, and contribute to the growth of the nation's fish production, the Ministry of Information held its 2025 Monsoon Season Fish Stocking Ceremony in the afternoon on July 16.

The event took place at Mingalar Lake, located along the Pyinmana-Taungnyo Roadside in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and his wife, the Permanent Secretary, departmental officials, and other staff members.

During the event, the Union Minister and his wife initiated the stocking by releasing fish fingerlings into Mingalar Lake. They then observed and encouraged officials and staff as they released over 2,000 Rohu and Thai Silver Barb fingerlings, provided by the Department of Fisheries, into the lake.

The Ministry of Information had previously stocked 2,500 Rohu and 2,500 Thai Silver Barb (a total of 5,000 fish) into a designated pond within the Myanmar Radio and Television compound in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on June 23.
