The Myanmar Fisheries Federation is implementing the project to build the Fish farming ponds with installment system for those who are willing to do fish farming at the fish farming zone in Pantanaw Township, Ayeyarwady Region.

By the end of 2023, plans are being made to start operation and it is planned to produce more fish and export them with the modern technologies.

The ponds are ready to do fish farming all year long and are currently breeding River Catfish.

Senior Vice Chair, Myanmar Fisheries Federation, Dr Toe Nandar Tin said "If they can operate with their management,we will provide pond, also fish and fish food. We will buy fishes produced by their ponds. All the people can participate. We operate fish farming with 30pondsper month and we use those ponds in rotation. Activities are being prepared to produce fish every year."

The parts of breeding and food producing are working well. The generator is crucial for the fish farms at the moment. The fishes from the farms will not conveyed to the KyiMyinDaing Fish Market to avoid market competition with them. Those will be sold to the dried fish sellers stationed near the farm.

Myanmar Fisheries Federation produces over 700 million USD worth fisheries products annually and it is estimated that over 1 billion USD worth fisheries products can be produced after this project.
