Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Ranith presided over mass at St Sebastian's Church in the Sri Lankan city of Negombo on Thursday. This is the first mass after the church was attacked last month. More than 250 people were killed and nearly 500 wounded in attacks by Islamist militants across the Indian Ocean island on Easter Sunday, including at least 102 people at St Sebastian Church.
The service on Thursday honored those killed and injured in the attack, and was open only to survivors and their families. It was held in a temporary structure while the site remains under reconstruction.
