Britain's King Charles III and senior members of the UK royal family on Monday attended the annual Commonwealth Day Service in London. It was the first time Charles attended the service as a monarch.
In his address to those gathered in Westminster Abbey, he remembered his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died last year. The Commonwealth is an association of 56 member states, many of them former British colonies. He urged members to be a group that "not only stands together, but strives together in restless and practical pursuit of the global common good".
