The first cable car in the Paris region, known as the C1, is scheduled to open on December 13. The 4.5-kilometre line will connect several suburbs in the Ile-de-France region, cutting travel time by nearly 20 minutes. Authorities expect around 11,000 passengers per day, with operations running from 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Construction on the project is nearly complete, with finishing touches underway on the canopy, lighting, CCTV, and real-time information systems. The C1 will become the largest urban cable car in Europe and the first of its kind in the Ile-de-France region. Officials hope it will provide faster, more convenient travel for commuters across the southeastern suburbs of Paris.
