First aid saves lives: Basic First Aid trainings opened in Kyaukse, Mandalay

The First Aid (basic) training (1/2023) and (2/2023) organized by Myanmar Red Cross Society was opened at the Kyaukse University in Mandalay region on 29th July and a total of 475 students joined the training course.

Nwe Nwe Htwe, Commandant, Kyaukse District Nursing Team, said " The numbers of trainees are totaled 475. The 1st batch is opened with 250 trainees and the 2nd batch will be opened with remaining trainees. The 1st batch course will be opened on 29th, 30th and 31st July and the No.2 course will be opened on 5th to 7th August. The course aims for serving the benefits of people with first aid."

The course intends to promote the first aid and basic health services, to provide healthcare services if there are injured people in the families and environments before transporting to the hospital, to actively participate in case of natural disasters, to have team work among students, to widen the scope of social relations through interaction, to develop innovative ability and to turn out red cross members who are reliable for the state. 

Htoo Myat Tin Shwe, said " We, human beings are doing struggles daily so that we can face unprecedented accidents and disasters. We need to be proficient in the basic first aid skills to give treatments to ourselves or others. We’d like to express thanks to Myanmar Red Cross Society for opening the basic first aid course at our University."

The closing ceremony of the course will be held on 13th August. After the course, the collective blood donation activity will be conducted. If the blood donors are a large number, the blood donation will be performed at the Kyaukse People’s Hospital for the 1st batch and at the Mandalay Children Hospital for the 2nd batch, according to the Kyaukse District Nursing Team.
