Fireworks dazzle as FIFA World Cup kicks off

The throng gathered around the waterfront were attracted by the fireworks display. Fans around the world dressed in costumes and traditional dress in the opening match at AI Bayt Stadium. Qatar is the first Middle Eastern country to host the tournament.
