Fireworks cap France Bastille Day celebrations

France on Thursday closed Bastille Day celebrations with nighttime fireworks show set off from the Eiffel Tower. The spectacle included a show of support to Ukraine with the tower lit in blue and yellow accompanied by this year's winning Eurovision song.

The national holiday marks the July 14, 1789, storming of the Bastille prison by angry Paris crowds that helped spark the French Revolution and by extension, a spirit of national unity, thanks to broad rights granted to citizens in the ensuing years.
