Three foreign nationals died and seven others, including two Thais, were injured in a fire at a hotel in the Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok on Sunday night.

The Japanese embassy said two Japanese citizens were severely injured. Local authorities say one is unconscious.Other people are also being treated for injuries, including smoke inhalation.

The incident took place on Sunday night near Khao San, an entertainment district bustling with foreign tourists.

Firefighters extinguished the flames about an hour later.Local authorities say one woman and two men from abroad were killed.
