Firefighters battle wildfire in northern Argentina

Wildfires are burning in the Santa Fe province in Argentina, with the government reporting Tuesday that most of the country is on extreme alert due to an extended drought.

Farmer and landowner José Maulión, said this was the first time he had experienced such large damage, adding that farmers in the area would have to delay their planting and harvests.The Argentina National Meteorological Service reported two unusual heat waves at the end of 2022 with maximum temperatures of 113 Fahrenheit, leaving forestry areas vulnerable to fires.
