Firefighters battle Mount Kilimanjaro fire

Local residents and firefighters worked on Sunday to put out a fire which broke out on Friday on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The cause of the fire is not known. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain standing at 5,895 meters or 19,340 feet above sea level. The fire is taking place near the Katanga site used by climbers at about 4,000 meters or roughly 13,000 feet.
