Fire Safety Measures: MOSWRR conducts awareness training and demonstration

Fire safety awareness training and practical demonstration was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Thursday with the attendance by Union Minister Dr. Soe Win, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary and other concerned officials as well as 35 trainees from the ministry and departments.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that fire safety core group has been established, and the very first fire safety training was conducted to 35 ministerial staff on November 9th, 2022 and the 2nd time on December 14th, 2023.

He highlighted the needs for the trainees to study, practice, and follow the fire prevention measures and to train to make it second nature. He urged all to share practical fire prevention lessons and experiences conducted at this training with others and nearby public.

Then, an official from Ottarathiri Township Fire Services Department lectured fire safety knowledge such as fire prevention methods, first aid fire extinguishing with DCP fire extinguisher in case of emergency, electrical and forest fire preventions, Emergency Exit plan, practical fire extinguishing training and fire drill lessons. 

In the afternoon on the same day, a practical fire safety demonstration was held in front of the Ministry’s office in the presence of departmental personnel. The attendees took part in practical fire-extinguishing demonstrations with the use of the nearest facilities.
