The Fire Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs opened the course on fire safety management for executive levels No.5 at the Headquarters of Fire Services Department in Yangon on Monday.

The course intends to lessen fire incidents causing enormous losses and damages that can hamper development of the state.

Min San Aye, Director, Yangon Region Fire Services Department, said " In last year, the fire incidents broke out 244 times in Yangon Region. The training course is opened not to lose and damage state-owned investment capitals and not to face loss of lives. Officials from our department will train the systems and plans on fire safety to trainees from 6 work fields such as hotel and model services, private hospitals, gas filling stations and so on. Upon completion of the training, if the trainees apply the knowledge learned from the course in their fields, the potential losses will be reduced. They will know a response plan that can respond quickly."

The course trains to executive level supervisors who are from factories and workshops in 29 industrial zones, shopping malls, hotels and models, gas filling stations and private hospitals.

Tun Tun Lat, Fire and Life Safety Manager, Lotte Hotel, said " The course plays an important role for hotels, motels and gas stations. We will share our knowledge gained from this course to the emergency rescue teams (ERT) in our hotel. By doing so, we can do effectively fire safety measures in our hotel."

Thandar Kyi, Accountant, Yadana gas filling station (Ye), said " By attending the course, we can carry out preparatory measures and also manage to mitigate losses. I think, the course is effective for gas filling stations."

Such kinds of courses were opened in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon for four times and 221 trainees attended. Now, 60 trainees are attending the 5 batch course that will last 3 weeks.
