Fire Outbreak: Level (3) fire incident at Grand Royal Liquor Production Factory

12 members of Fire Brigade injured during the fire outbreak at Grand Royal Liquor Production Factory, situated in LeitPoat Village of Hmawby Township in Yangon Region on Friday.

The fire started at around 3:30 pm in the afternoon, and level (3) groups of fire brigade members including 60 fire engines, 450 members of fire brigade and 100 members of auxiliary members took part in the efforts for putting out the fire.

Three tanks with the capacity of 50,000 gallons RF 96% liquor, 6 tanks with the capacity of 20,000 gallons RF 50% liquor and 3 storages were engulfing with fire.

At around 5:30 pm, an explosion occurred by fire outbreak, leaving 12 members of fire brigade injured. They have been sent to Insein People’s Hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the fire and losses are under investigation.
