Leaders from Ibero-American countries, Portugal, Andorra and Spain met on Friday in the Dominican Republic's capital for a regional summit. Migration, environmental issues, energy and international funding were expected to be among the topics which dominate the two-day talks in Santo Domingo.

Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader greeted all leaders as they arrived for an evening session of the summit. The leaders of Mexico and Brazil, Latin America's two largest economies, had decided to skip the summit, which runs until Saturday.
