Fighter Of The Year: Aung La N Sang Won World MMA award

Myanmar MMA fighter Aung La N Sang has won the International Fighter of the Year  at the 11th World MMA Awards ceremony, held in Las Vegas of the United States on Wednesday.

It was presented by Fighter Only Magazine, and the award has been presented to the leading mixed martial artist for his/her contribution to the sport both inside and outside the ring or octagon.

Aung La was nominated for two categories for World MMA Awards, Charles ‘Mask’ Lewis Fighter of the Year and International Fighter of the Year.

The first World MMA Awards ceremony was held in 2008, and it is the most prestigious award event in the world of MMA. The award winners have been chosen through online fan voting.

Aung La Nsang is also known as "Burmese Python". He is a mixed martial artist of ethnic Kachin descent. He made his MMA debut in 2005 and would go on to become a major star in his native Myanmar after signing with ONE Championship and winning two titles with the promotion.
