Field Inspection Tour: Union Ministers made a field inspection tour

A working committee led by U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for the Ministry (2) at the Office of the Chairman of State Administration Council, and U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Information, on July 26, is conducting meetings with officials and conducting field inspections in Mandalay and Sagaing, cities affected by the earthquake. This committee serves as the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, respectively, of the Working Committee for Developing a Progressive and Stronger Community.

In the morning, the committee met with officials at the Mandalay Region Government Office. Union Ministers U Ko Ko Hlaing and U Maung Maung Ohn provided necessary guidance and discussed various matters.

The Secretary of the Mandalay Region Government, the Administrator of Yamethin District, and the Regional Ministers for Economic Affairs, Resources, and Development then presented on their respective sectors.

Subsequently, Deputy Ministers provided detailed explanations regarding the implementation of their respective projects. Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing emphasized the importance of effectively executing tasks with skilled laborers from various regions, ensuring youth participation in prioritized village projects, securing and utilizing international aid, engaging the Red Cross Society, conducting mobile entertainment, and educating the public on building according to standards.

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn discussed the release of content and outcome-oriented news, empowering youth, and organizing mobile entertainment.

Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing then delivered the closing remarks. The working committee also visited the Sinkyo temporary staff housing in Maha Aungmyay Township, Mandalay, where they oversaw the provision of 150 container houses for 150 staff members and related administrative arrangements.

At the Mandalay KBZ Center, they managed administrative matters to provide free medical treatment to the public and arranged loans for long-term support. They also organized the sale of standard rebar at reasonable prices for reconstruction and facilitated knowledge sharing on reinforced concrete construction.

Additionally, they ensured the readiness of emergency lifeboats. The committee visited the Saungdar Weaving and Vocational Training School in Amarapura Township. They discussed methods to identify and coordinate the needs of people engaged in weaving and sculpture, exploring ways to integrate and fulfill these requirements. For each location, they donated a total of 30 MRTV DTH sets (10 sets per location) and 60 MRTV DVB T-2 Set Top Boxes (20 sets per location).

In the afternoon, during a meeting with officials at the Sagaing District Administrator's Office, Union Ministers U Ko Ko Hlaing and U Maung Maung Ohn delivered speeches. They then handed over 50 MRTV DTH sets and 150 MRTV DVB T-2 Set Top Boxes to the Sagaing Region Government. The working committee also visited the temporary staff housing within the Maha See Gon Gyi Pagoda compound in Sagaing, where they inspected the provision of container houses and administrative arrangements for 36 staff families. They warmly greeted the staff families, and Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented them with 10 MRTV DTH sets and 20 MRTV DVB T-2 Set Top Boxes. Following this, they inspected approximately 6 acres of land near the Ywathaung Railway Diesel Locomotive Compound in Sagaing, assessing its suitability for additional container house placements and coordinating necessary arrangements.

In the evening, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn visited the Ocean Super Center, shop houses, and walking street market in the Mingalar Mandalay Commercial Area in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay. He observed the bustling crowds of people shopping and relaxing, and warmly greeted both vendors and shoppers.
