







Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation conducted a field inspection to assess the progress of plantation projects intended to establish 1,000 acres of green areas during this year's monsoon season around Yatsauk and Pingdaya townships in Shan State (South), as part of a special greening initiative.
In the morning of April 29, Union Minister accompanied by relevant officials, visited the Myoma Forest Plantation Garden and the temporary plantation in Bha Htoo, located in Yatsauk Township. He inspected the condition of the planted saplings, their maintenance, and the preparations for monsoon tree planting. During the site visit, responsible personnel briefed the Union Minister on the planned planting activities categorized by tree species.
Following that, the Union Minister visited the Myanmar Timber Enterprise's Moetaw Timber Depot in Yatsauk Township and provided guidance on the necessary actions based on the reports presented by the responsible officials.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected several special greening plantations established for the greening initiative around Pingdaya, including the plantation near Konlon ကုံလုံ monastery, the plantation near Kyauksu ကျောက်စု Village and the plantation near Thit E-pin သစ်အယ်ပင် Village. He reviewed the condition of these areas and gave directives based on the reports presented by officials.
Later, the Union Minister visited the 10-acre special greening plantation being established near Wa-ta-ya ဝါးတရာ Village in Pingdaya Township, where land preparation such as digging and leveling had been completed. He also discussed matters relating to land acquisition for plantation establishment around Pingdaya, coordination with relevant departments and local communities and development and implementation of long-term management plans.
