






The Kachin State Government is actively working to enhance the state's capacity in double cropping, aiming to achieve 200% of its food security requirements and exceed 100% self-sufficiency. As part of these efforts, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, along with other concerned officials, conducted a field inspection of the multi-agriculture and livestock farms in Pammati Ward, Myitkyina Township on Tuesday.
During the field inspection, the Chief Minister visited U Mar Yaw's multi-agriculture and livestock farm, where he oversaw the farming of local cattle, pigs, winter crops, vegetables and goat farming in a housing system. He also observed the straw collection and crushing process for livestock feed. Additionally, the Chief Minister coordinated with relevant officials to distribute free pesticide sprayers and medical supplies from the State Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department.
The Chief Minister and party continued their inspection to Field No. (72) in Pammati, where they met farmers and discussed on expanding crop cultivation on over 40 acres after the monsoon paddy harvest.
Next, the Chief Minister and party heard the reports on the requirements for double crop cultivation, target yields and potential cultivation methods. The farmers also presented their needs for cultivation and village roads. The Chief Minister then fulfilled the needs based on the reports provided while distributing natural fertilizer, sunflower and bean seeds to the farmers.
Following the provision, they observed the farmers' tractor-plowed fields, the conditions of bean seed sowing and inspected the cultivation of vegetable gardens and groundwater drilling for land irrigation.
The Chief Minister and party visited U Sin Wah Naw's multi-purpose farm in Nga Oh Village, Myitkyina Township. During the visit, they inspected sunflower cultivation, pig and poultry farming, sunflower sowing after the monsoon paddy harvest and a fish farm under construction.
