Farmland Mgmt. Comm. Meeting: Shan State CM delivered an opening speech

Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, together with the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, the Secretary of the State Government, and heads of relevant state-level departments, attended the Shan State Farmland Management Committee Coordination Meeting (No. 2/2026) held at the State Government Office meeting hall in Taunggyi, in the morning of March 7.

In his capacity as the Chairman of the State Farmland Management Committee, Chief Minister U Aung Aung addressed the meeting, highlighting that the specific policies have been established to prevent the loss of agricultural land, with the ultimate goal of improving living standards through increased agricultural productivity. Members of the committee were urged to handle farmland management matters in accordance with existing farmland laws, rules, procedures, and directives. He emphasized that all actions should aim toward the development of the agricultural sector and the enhancement of agro-based production. He called for active coordination and implementation across all relevant departments and organizations to ensure the success of these initiatives.

During the meeting, the State Director of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics presented a progress report on the resolutions passed during the previous meeting (No. 1/2026).

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and departmental heads deliberated on the proposals submitted for meeting No. 2/2026 and reached necessary decisions. The meeting concluded with a general discussion among attendees and closing remarks by the Chief Minister, it’s reported.
