Farmland Management: Meeting for Devt. of Standard Operating Procedure

Magway Region Governemnt held a meeting for development of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the way to resolve the use of farmland in other ways and the methods to prevent it from happening in the future.

In this meeting, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin stressed that the illegal activities should be systematically analyzed and recommendations should be made so that the people who act correctly and honestly are not harmed.

The existing land law says that farmland must not be used in any other way without obtaining a permit.Since it is an agricultural country and for the food security of the nation, it is important not to reduce agricultural land areas.

Mainly, it is necessary to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)to ensure that agricultural land areas is not reduced and to have enough land for the growing population to live and for the country's developing factories, the Chief Minister added. And, attendees made discussions on matters including the way to deal with other uses of agricultural land and development of a Standard Operating Procedure.
