Farmland Management Committee: MDY Farmland Management Committee held a meeting

The Mandalay Region Farmland Management Committee Meeting No. (4/2024) was held at the meeting hall of the Region Government office on 24th December and attended by the Chairman of the Region Farmland Management Committee, Chief Minister U Myo Aung, committee members, and responsible officials from relevant departments.

In his opening speech at the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to prevent any damage or reduction of fertile farmland in the region and ensure its sustainable long-term use. He also stressed the importance of enforcing Farmland laws, regulations, and best practices to prevent unauthorized use of land and to ensure proper management through careful monitoring and inspection.

Following this, the Committee Secretary Head Officer of Mandalay Region Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics, U Than Win, presented the discussion on applications for alternative land use under Section 30 (b) of the Farmland Law, as well as the issues forwarded by the Region Government for review. During the discussions, the attendees addressed various agricultural land management-related matters and other general issues. The Chief Minister provided guidance for coordination and concluded the meeting with closing remarks.
