As families gathered together to celebrate the full moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese cities of Jilin and Suzhou shone brightly with festivities that blend tradition and modernity.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a significant traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. This year, the festival fell on Monday.During the festival, family members gather to admire the moon, share mooncakes and light lanterns to enjoy the happiness of family reunion.

At the Beishan Park of Jilin City, northeast China’s Jilin Province, crowds flocked to watch vibrant performances featuring song and dance on the cruise boats on the East Lake. A stunning six-meter moon lantern illuminated the lake, creating a strong festive atmosphere.A traditional molten iron fireworks show on the lake left spectators in awe, while an impressive 80-meter-long fireworks waterfall lit up the night sky, filling the air with cheers and applause that ignited the festive spirit.
